The Poinciana is a Café, Restaurant & Bar operating seven days a week for Breakfast & Lunch from 8.00am til’ 4.00pm served daily in our courtyard & indoor dining areas. We are fully licensed with cocktails, wine & beer served in our Bar or at the table. Our Menu is based on simple fresh food with herbs & most vegetables sourced locally where possible. With our menu the keyword is Global with influences from Italy, South East Asia, Baja California Mexico, The Caribbean, South America, The South Pacific, Australia & beyond infusing the dishes. This is food from the heart, for the soul.
Cocktails are now considered to be right up there as one of the culinary arts & at The Poinciana we take our libations seriously, which means we not only stock a wide selection of the finest spirits & liqueurs, but we also diligently strive to serve the finest cocktails, whether they be classic, exotic or modern. Our Drink Menu lists not only our extensive selection of cocktails, but also our wonderful wine selection, featuring some classics from Australian & New Zealand.
Owners, Keven & Karin Oxford are the people who created & operated the multi-award winning Bluesfest - The East Coast Blues & Roots Music Festival from 1990 to 2004 now bring The Poinciana to you. After selling Bluesfest in December 2004 they decided to look for a space so they could implement their concept of foodbarcafemusic & introduce it to The Byron Shire. The idea was to combine delicious, affordable restaurant Food using only the freshest local produce, & merge it with great wines & exotic cocktails from the Bar, sensational coffee from the Cafe & only the very best Music. You’ll always find fantastic music playlists from all genres & eras pumping at The Poinciana.
There’s also free “Wi- Fi” (Wireless Internet) available throughout the premises & great magazines to browse through while you dine or enjoy a drink. We boast of having the best coffee in the shire & serve Vittoria Coffee's own Certified Organic, Rainforest Alliance & Oro blends exclusively.
The Poinciana becomes the official Festival Club for the annual Mullumbimby Music Festival (www.mullummusicfestival.com) held in November each year. We feature intimate showcase performances by Festival & other performers on all nights of the event.
